This Nottinghamshire site is a former quarry which is being returned to nature. There are reedbeds and woodlands aplenty. Bittern is the target bird No facilities but a good garden centre nearby

Summer Leys WLT – Cancelled due to Flooding

Situated in the Upper Nene Valley near Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, this reserve with its low-lying gravel islands will attract waders and is good for wintering waterfowl.
