2 previous visits here were postponed because of flooding, but we hope this improving site with it’s good variety of habitat will throw up some interesting birds

Situated in the Upper Nene Valley near Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, this reserve with its low-lying gravel islands will attract waders and is good for wintering waterfowl. Mature hedgerows harbour Tree Sparrows and we may see the early winter visitors such as Siskin, Fieldfare and Redwings too. Visitor Centre with café & toilet facilities NN29 7TD
The interaction between birds and flowers is fascinating.
This expansive reserve in the River Tame Valley was formerly gravel pits and since being turned over to nature seems to get better each year. Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers are known to be present here, so we might be in for a rare treat. Visitor Centre with toilet facilities B78 2BB

A talk by John Tinning, on the spectacular scenery and wildlife to be found in this region of Spain with its 3 nature reserves. A must-visit area for any birdwatchers.
The days are still short, but with just a 25 miles drive into Rutland, we can visit a SSSI reserve with over 30 hides to see wintering waders, ducks, egrets and geese. Visitor Centre with toilet facilities. Entry fee £7.50 (£6.50 concession) if you don’t have a permit. LE15 8BT
